About

I’m a 40-year-old male American (born in August 1970), an IT professional (UNIX/Linux system administrator) by trade. I am taking an extended trip through Africa, which should last about thirteen months.

Prior to embarking on this trip, I had been to Ethiopia twice before: once in May of 2008 (I also spent a few days in Egypt on that trip) and again in April/May of 2009. You can look at pictures of those visits if you like.

  1. Hi Chris,
I’d like to use one of your photos, “Flags in Tahrir Sq.” on flickr.com for an article that I’m designing for Crosscurrents magazine for Northwestern University on the Middle East and North Africa. It’s a non-profit, publication for students, parents and alums of the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. Can I get your permission to download and use the photo? Would you like a photo credit?

  2. Yes, you may use that photo. I would love a photo credit. Thanks!
